Seattle residents! Contact your City Council people before Tuesday to express support for this legislation. It waives codes that currently make it impossible to convert office spaces to residential ones. This will help with the housing crisis!

I don't know if that helps since I don't know your situation, but that's been something that helps me lately. I tend to think so much about other people and the world around me that I forget to check in on me and my basic needs. I DO know that you're a good person who deserves to create in comfort.

Something that helps me when I feel anxious is taking a moment to breathe and think HALT: Am I feeling Hungry, Angry, Lonely, or Tired? Turns out, sometimes I'm not having an existential crisis. Sometimes, I just needed cookies and a nap and things feel less big and the world a little more gentle.

Using the air con isn't violating some terrible rule or burdening someone with high expenses. Using the air con is cooling yourself because you are warm and maintaining an optimal state of comfort is necessary to prevent emotional disregulation and allow you to make the most of your time there.

You've always struck me as someone kind and thoughtful about the world around you. Remember that the mind is a frequent liar. The best way to protect your heart from it isn't always to reason with it but instead make sure to meet your basic needs: eat, hydrate, sleep, socialize or find space.

You are well within your rights to use your space however you see fit. I imagine the person warning you has had people come and misuse the space, so they warn you out of courtesy, but if they knew you well, they needn't have bothered. They might've had someone blasting the air con with open windows.

If you wish to be a letterer, focus your portfolio solely on lettering. If you are a writer, illustrator, colorist and letterer -- why not create separate sections that focus on your best work in those areas?

I reviewed a few letterer portfolios recently, but the issue wasn't lack of skill in the work -- it was how difficult it would be to find either the portfolio or info on the portfolio clearly showing that they are a letterer open for more lettering work and that this is lettering that they've done.

This is indeed the best portfolio advice! In addition to that, make your portfolio easy to find. If someone only knows you from your name/what you do (or simply who you are on social media), it's great if they can easily search for you online to find the portfolio, see your work, and contact you.

I lucked out on a second hand listing on mecari and I made the feverish decision to buy it while I was stressed out about the move. I have a Broken Binding obsession, but I also have no regrets because it is so freaking pretty. 🤣
