My municipality didn’t have fluoridated water until relatively recently. I enjoyed supporting the protesters by joining them and saying things like, “We have a RIGHT to identify poor people by their teeth!” This did not make me popular 😂

Mine was an egregiously early riser from an early age which honestly nearly did me in until I never once had to wake them up for school. Not once. Now that they’re off at college I can knit and have a leisurely latte any time I want and those hellishly early mornings are a fond memory.

I mean, had I been able to walk without crippling pain or use my arms and hands at all I might have just sucked it up and figured it was somehow my fault. After 2.5 years of limited functionality I started losing my ability to connect with reality in an objective way.

Stress does all kinds of awful things to the body. Your poor husband! I think you’re right about women and stress. If we give any indication that we’re stressed we’re suddenly hysterical or weak or something. As if. Just believe us when we say it’s hard.

This was how I finally got diagnosed. I figured if I was tired and in constant pain anyway I might as well work out, so I hit the gym with a trainer 3 days/week. I got weaker. Doc checked lactic acid levels and said”Zomg stop doing that immediately and don’t ever do it again!”

The idea that we are all one virus away from permanently changing the composition of our muscles is just bonkers. Not sure what triggered my change, but it coincided with the absolute relief of kiddo coming out the other side of chemo. “Your kid is better-you likely don’t need to walk anymore!”

Cut flowers and cats don’t mix. Luckily, I’m highly allergic to lilies of all types so I’m the early warning system for dangerous flowers. But honestly, cut flowers just mean cat barf to clean up.
