Finally started reading Grendel: Devil by the Deed (Master's Edition.) It was a present, and is a retelling of the original Hunter Rose story with new art by Matt Wagner and colored by his son, Brennan. Only a little in, but it's like an homage to his earlier work. I love it.

Saw a late-model Camaro on the side of the road, front driver's tire shredded. Minue later, I'm waiting in a turn lane, and the Camaro comes blasting up the road--ON THE BARE RIM--at least 40mph (60kph). I feel bad for that car.

Watching Conan for the first time since, probably, 1983. Back ~96/97, there was this guy who would wear Thulsa Doom outfits to Tracks (Goth/ industrial night). Not cosplay, more equal to ppl copying The Crow. Plus, he looked badass.

It’s maddening to see skepticism of ejecting Biden treated like cultish loyalty. Some of us have been out here saying Biden’s too old for years. The problem is that what is being proposed is a shocking, almost unheard-of remedy, and every historic precedent tells us it’ll end in catastrophe.

Yes! I had a friend who was a photorealistic painter until he started making holograms. He became an expressionist because he felt the technology made hyper painting obsolete. The rise of highly rendered AI work has me wanting more artists to move away from doggedly literal figurative work.

Pink Turns Blue formed up around 1985, and took their name from Hüsker Dü's Pink Turns To Blue. They lean more post-punk and goth, but they HD/SST influence is there, even in their recent 2022 release. (Full disclosure I'm a huge fan.)

I had a handmade, cowboy style, Hüsker Dü belt around this time. A friend of mine was in a psych unit and used all their craft time to make metal/punk leather accessories. Despite never becoming a big fan, they've always held a special place in the mixtape of my life.
