This is exactly it. To the NHS and those holding their puppet strings, trans lives are worth less than cisgender feelings. They are treated as expendable, so long as cisgender quality of life may be at all impacted in any way. It is outrageous.

GLP has also been made aware of several young people who have attempted suicide as a result of Atkins' actions. This is exactly what we knew would happen, and is an absolute national emergency. One lost life is too many, 16 is an epidemic. If the NHS doesn't reinstate care now, this WILL continue.

Not a single major newspaper has covered this story, despite GLP providing more evidence to support their claims than any such widely-platformed opponent, whose claims have all crumbled upon basic scrutiny. The New York Times is still trying to launch a new podcast attacking GAC anyway.

The Cass team and leadership like Victoria Atkins have done nothing to draw attention to these, and have downplayed the risks of losing access to care— all while international experts have been steadfast about the dangers of lost access. They were not only warned, they dismissed them time and again.

Jo Maugham, the director of GLP, made this announcement alongside a large volume of documents from the NHS referencing the deaths, which also appear to be written to obscure the scale and magnitude of loss of life. At least one parent has been public about losing her child.

This is a level of loss of life unseen previously at the clinic and directly attributable to the loss of access to care. The whistleblowers have come forward that these deaths were deliberately buried, especially by the Cass team who was made aware.

If you haven't been following what's happening in the UK, the Good Law Project has announced that they've been in contact with multiple whistleblowers from the NHS GIDs and have learned of sixteen young people who have died since the initial Bell ruling in 2020, after which blockers were paused.

It also was a legal change that she had to make in the system after going through the courts. She didn't lie to anyone. The idea that florida clerks will issue a marker change arbitrarily on a whim is totally at odds with material reality.

Legally yes. But she tried to claim that I had done it because i blocked it just in time so she started acreaming at me. Ultimately she left because obviously if we replayed the cameras it would have been clear what she did.

When I worked at as a barista, a woman came in and asked for her coffee to be "extra hot". By law, we were only able allowed to go up to 192°, so I made it as hot as we could. When I handed the scalding cup to her, she demanded it hotter. When I couldn't, she tried to dump it on my head.

While footage like this was shown during the US invasion of Grenada, it was still from far away and not materially that much different from Vietnam footage. In the mid-90's, they knew they had to really sell this one. And holy shit, did they ever.

It's terrifying that the only reason I have moral clarity as a reader is that Pratchett set the story up to be bombastically obvious about that which it was critiquing. It was written during the first Gulf War, where missile-mounted cameras showed the point of impact like a videogame.
