Yeah I love her books because they are so utterly humanistic. We are flawed and so the way characters pursue magic and think about the future should be flawed too. I'm reading her Earthsea books and just flabbergasted by how incredible they are.

It’s also self perpetuating as you might imagine. The North American market constantly looks at itself for comps published within the last year. So if no b&w for kids is being published they point and say “see there’s no demand in the market for that”

be less afraid to create clumsy comics. awkward tangents. amateur lettering. weird sequentials and pacing. You Can Just Make it. you dont need to be trapped in a cycle of perfectionism and imposter syndrome when you could have a finished work instead. print that thing out and staple it!!!

The National Print Museum in Dublin is a treasure for designers everywhere. Tiny but with very thorough staff that will answer any question about the machines or craft. A must visit. Plus their cafe is VERY charming.
