yesterday my 5 y/o asked if someone was going to cut his head off and i gave him an extensive lecture on how hard it is to do that, how much stuff connects the head to the body and how in all of human history we figured out how to reliably decapitate a person only about 200 years ago

Brought my 5 y/o for drop off at camp and the like half dozen young women crowded around the sign in table saw him and immediately started cooing over him and telling him how cute he is. We should all be so lucky to have our day start like that.

my first solo flight was also a transcontinental move to a relationship that ended up going not well so I'm genuinely shocked I enjoy it as much as I do now (part of that however is that I have no Chores or Tasks to accomplish for a set period of time which rules)
