I am genuinely gobsmacked that there are people who aren't digging Dawntrail. I think its the best writing outside of Shadowbringers if not the best writing in FFXIV. I love the characters, the setting, the way it resets the stakes. Did people just want a bigger, sadder antagonist?

I think a big problem is that these things are criticism more often than critique. I watched CrashCourse's analysis of Things Fall Apart and it made me want to read the book - now a favorite. Most youtube "analysis" is just a list of flaws, and that sucks.

I don't design trains but it's neat knowing how they work. The problem for me is there's a difference between loving something enough to study it and getting so deep in criticism you can only spot the problems. I like knowing how to construct a film. It makes me appreciate the good ones.

I prefer a couple of these in my back yard to smaller ones I might walk into. I'm never gonna miss one of these and bumble into it's web. And they're not hunting spiders so they prefer to move pretty slowly. They are creepy as hell if you're not used to them, though.
