A chipped tooth usually requires no treatment. As for the knee…can you bear weight on it? Is it swollen? How is your pain? If all of these answers are bad and it doesn’t improve soon, I would go in. Elevate and ice for now.

My streaming trends have gone way dark lately. Horror, dark humor, mostly. Saltburn, Midsummer, Fall of the House of Usher, etc. My husband is a little put off by it but as I explained, the real monsters of the world are way scarier than the made up ones. It’s easier to deal with.

He was near death over a month ago. He had just passed a year being with us and we were packing him up to the emergency vet. Several weeks of medication, antibiotics, and special food later, here he is nuzzled up against my neck. Grateful for my little buddy.

In German, a pie chart is sometimes referred to as a Tortendiagramm, or “cake diagram” In Brazilian Portuguese, a pie chart is a gráfico de pizza, or “pizza graphic” But my favourite name for a pie chart, by far, is the French “camembert”

I’m currently reading up on an old Irish term for a person who likes to stay home by the warmth and comfort of the fireplace (a person we might today call a couch potato). The term, cailleach na luatha, should immediately replace couch potato though. It essentially means “divine hag of the ashes”

Every time I get an affirmation that it is okay to set boundaries with toxic family members, I’m reminded that moving to a blue state, with no forwarding address, change of phone number, and abandoning Facebook was the best damn decision I’ve ever made. Self care - 5 stars.
