I see edited clips in both directions. It's true, they're both old & struggling. But one of them defaults to kind, the other to cruel. Most critical: we're voting for the team of advisors, cabinet, & leaders they bring with them & listen to. One side wants to help, the other to burn it all down.

We're in this current mess because some people are having a big mad because a black man had the audacity to siit in the White House and they were given permission to let those feelings of hatred out. To have a *woman* - of *color* - in that office? They would literally rather burn the world down.

I had the same issue and had to resort to waiting til we were at the beach and was then able to find augers everywhere... the expensive beach supply stores and even the grocery stores had them...

My FIL used to repeat the saying "it all ends in worms", but that focuses only on the last paragraph of the last page. "It all exists in love" covers the entire rest of the book. I'm so sorry for the pain you're feeling. It's all the more painful because of the family bond, love, & shared history.

My daughter complained about an annoying word all her friends wouldn't stop using. I told her if she wanted it to stop, just ask some of the parents to start using it. A week of some of us randomly throwing it into conversation 'incorrectly' cringed them so bad it sussed it right out of them. ;)

I came here to say this... I'm 60. there was also gopher, ICQ, URouLette, Prodigy, blogger, many search engines, dozens of "better bulletin board" attempts, music and movie pirate sites, and the heyday of aggregators like Slashdot and Boing Boing. They flared up like supernovas, then we moved on.

Does the dentist look like Steve Martin? I would walk to the receptionist, cancel my appointment, and ask for a copy of all my records. There is no way I'm *ever* letting someone like that in my mouth. I can't wear a mask around that asshole during dental work... I do not trust them at all.

I live in NC. These laws are seriously f'd up. They are performative nonsense and won't stand up in court. They are solely used for twitter likes and to paint targets on people they don't like. I'm not changing my behavior at all. Masks at all times in any interior spaces w/people.

It's in alt-groups like Steam Powered Giraffe or Marian Call, which, arguably, new wave/punk/grunge/etc *were* the alt-scene. Seems once a group signs, they migrate to "average inoffensive", so the interesting/creative/whimsical will always be alt.

Do I understand the image correctly - in the larger image there are around a dozen-ish widely-spread craters outside the volcano, but in the immediate vicinity of the caldera there are a cluster of 6-ish? Any ideas why they're so unevenly distributed?
