One of the most important things you can do as an ally and as fighter of fascism is stop laughing at evangelical Christians and realize they mean every single word they say. They’re not funny, they’re absolutely terrifying. Take them extremely seriously and act accordingly.

The rise of apostasy bothers me. People don't believe in Jesus anymore. Even worse they use Jesus/ the bible as a tool of hate. Lord have mercy. God loves trans queer people. Please know this. You do not have to compromise being queer and having faith. This is why I am part of the episcopal church.

It helps knowing the history of xtianity from a secular standpoint; there were many groups of messianic Jewish offshoots in Roman Judea at the time. the jesus one stuck in large part bc the followers knew theyd fail trying to sell it to Jews, so they catered to the Romans, primarily vilifying Jews -

As a part of the LGBTQ+ community I have never not taken them seriously, but this is excellent advice for most, as I think many I know here in San Francisco not involved in fighting them for decades, do seem to laugh them off when there is NOTHING funny about what these people want.
