I guess at this point I should be used to finding out people I've met and chatted with and personally liked and professionally admired and sometimes even worked with did some horrible shit, since it's happened several times in the past decade, but it's a gut punch every time

saw a book deal announcement about a vampire novel called "hemo sapiens" and of course I approve of the pun but I wonder if it's a deliberate reference to flannery o'connor's novel "wise blood" I mean I certainly hope so
