You see it everywhere on this website, this underlying belief that the political left in the US and the youth at-large is exclusively using Palestine as a wedge to express broader discontent rather than actually having any real commitment to the cause. Of course they themselves don't care though.

It's also...a lot of Arabs have lost relatives and friends already to the bombardments, and are continuing to lose them from afar. Asking them to vote for Biden is like asking them to vote for their murderer. Biden continues to fund & arm Israel with no conditions, refusing to apply the Leahy law.

Then I would liken it in similarity to the "Quiet New Deal" - no one cares about stuff the Dems don't publicize and tout, and I am someone who cares a great deal, and I track a lot of media related to Gaza, and those items barely made a blip on my radar. It's eclipsed by the news of daily bombing.

I am not saying that their positions are equivalent. I'm saying that functionally, it hasn't led us to a different place than where Trump would lead us. Biden has been unwilling to use any real leverage that would make Israel stop - which is taking away arms and funding.

He is an avowed Zionist for decades; he is not feckless. He did not "accidentally" sign off on continuing to fund Israel's bombing of Gaza; he did it with his full faculties and the support of his staff. Every public statement he makes is about anti-semitism and zero about Palestinian suffering.

Yeah, but is Biden doing anything differently than Trump would do that would make a difference to the Palestinians being bombed and starved everyday right now? If he is, he sure as hell isn't saying shit about it. Trump isn't funding the bombing right now. Biden is. No matter who wins, Arabs die.

I haven’t read it but I watched the show and thought it was really inspiring - it featured a woman dying of cancer, a woman who wanted to move on after her husband died and a couple who wanted to clear out stuff after their kids were grown.

My husband (he's Palestinian/Jordanian) and I just use lots of raw garlic (either minced with the food processor or ground with a mortar and pestle). We have not tried roasted but I'm sure that would also be delicious.
