A huge part of the problem more generally is the deeply incestuous relationship between the legal academy and the judiciary from whom they gain their credentials(?) and upon whom they rely to advance their students, a particularly dangerous type of intellectual and critical capture.

I adore that the New Yorker published a piece calling on Dems to invoke the 25th Amendment to force Bidenā€™s resignation, but the law professor writing never seems to get around to who would become VP in that scenario or how that would happen. Legal scholarship is a funny thing.

It can be hard to love a country born in sin andā€”like allā€”guilty of many more. But, thereā€™s so much to love and celebrate in the people and the places and much of the history. And, Iā€™ll be damned if a bunch of think-tank mediocrities are going to take that away with their nationalism and fascism.

Iā€™m seeing shares of people saying things like, ā€œI donā€™t support Trump(ā€˜s policies), but I want a President whoā€™s coherent, so Iā€™ll vote for him.ā€ Iā€™m not saying that such people donā€™t exist, but I think we should be skeptical of whatā€™s being expressed. (They were going to vote for him.)
