Dem leadership played pick-me to a bunch of pundits who said no, you can’t brush it off, now we’re blaming them for not coming out and brushing it off. Decapitate the DNC then it’s Dems in disarray til Nov.
Biden has nerves of steel. He’s showing us the way. He’s running. He’s the guy. Periodt.
This particular line of attack is DOA. Was she loyal? Yes, point for Harris. Was she covering up for him? No. He was and is still capable of doing the job. And even if some doctor's report is uncovered suggesting otherwise, she can plausibly claim to have believed he was capable. No story there.
I understand what your point is, but also what's to do if he stays in and the debate in September is just the same? I generally agree the media has been juicing it and the "Oh jinkies look at this story I've totally been writing for *months* about this" seems disingenuous at best.

It's relevant because it's a valid criticism, it's obviously true, and voters can understand it. It will hurt her. Maybe Dems should consider other options.
I want to know what exactly she is supposed to do. Is she expected to do a televised public statement and say that Biden is no longer fit? How damaging would that have been to Democrats? She's his vice president, she was on his winning ticket. Of course she would defend him till he changes his mind.
What exactly would the fucking scandal even be, that Harris backed her boss? Other than the debate these people can't point to a single thing that's being covered up. No one has given details about countermanded or illegal orders from this supposedly addled president. THAT would be a scandal
I think the counterargument is that elected Democrats will be able to rally around Harris and support her in a way they seem unwilling or unable to with Biden. This media story has legs because elected Democrats are putting fuel on the fire. Without that, the media's punches don't always land.
The nice thing is that had she gone the other way, they'd have had the "Harris stabs Biden in the back to claim nomination" story. THAT story would actually kill her candidacy (women can't be too ambitious after all, very unlikeable). They'll have to settle for this one. Shame.

Good news there is Harris has been kept at arm's length for most of the administration. Word is that Jill took the segregation attack during the '20 primary debates especially hard and doesn't like Harris much.
Right, if she came out today and said he's not fit, that would disqualify her since she's undermining him. If she remains supportive, then she's covering up for him.
