I think giant university endowments are bad, but I also think just confiscating them is very illegal? If nothing else, most donors attach conditions to them, and if those conditions aren't fulfilled, they're entitled to get the money back.

I spend too much time thinking about how Sonia Sotomayor was in one of the very first classes at Princeton that admitted women, and how now she has to go to work every day with a guy who (aside from being just a general troglodyte) actively campaigned to prevent her from matriculating.

Is Biden a DSA leftist? No. But he is absolutely the most liberal president of my 50-year lifetime, and most of his “failures” are the result of either the centrist dems being the entire margin in the senate or our whackjob Supreme Court.

We went through this with Carter in 1980 and it resulted in us getting Bill Clinton, the “New Democrats” and a whole bunch of actual neoliberalism. Biden is the first president we’ve had since then that is unabashedly a fan of big government and how it can help people.
