Not an animal behaviorist, but big on dog safety. ERs see dog bites all the time, and the biting dog is usually a dog you know. Last time I heard of a dog grabbing someone’s arm, it was a rescue Akita, and the victim (a local attorney - lawsuits ensued) suffered permanent injuries. Please be safe.

Couple lovely gopher snakes saved from 1) traffic (big snake, years ago) and 2) stampeding high schoolers (baby snake, earlier this month). Released safely in appropriate habitat. Skills from a rural childhood! If you’re in Cali, I recommend this excellent site: californiaherps.com
