To be totally fair, converting office space into livable homes is not very cost effective, but it would at least be legal to do so! Washington also recently passed a law removing restrictions on building community style housing. Maybe they can work together!

Turns out they are related! SF, for example, has extremely strict zoning codes that make it nigh impossible to build new housing, and lack of new housing is a huge factor in skyrocketing the prices.

Seattle residents! Contact your City Council people before Tuesday to express support for this legislation. It waives codes that currently make it impossible to convert office spaces to residential ones. This will help with the housing crisis!

This is more doable than you'd think, and it doesn't have to be a media thing. Save your defunct bowling league, run for one of New Hampshire's 900 State House seats, revive a dogshit museum. Be open about what you don't know and call friends who do. It's fun, it's good for you, and it's the future.

We at Possibility Space had spent nearly 3 years building something that might have called impossible. Solving problems that no other games company had solved. We were doing it well and fast, and our project would have made waves. We deserved more than a spineless owner yanking the rug.

Which isn't to say don't speak up, but there are ways to discuss an important topic - like the harassment of Black women in games, targeting community managers, and using the language of transphobia to critique female character designs - while also asking "am I escalating this?"

This is becoming SO common and it is absolutely not okay! Freelancers, please read through every contract and, if something sounds shitty, it probably is. Ask to change it because every so often that works! But of course we are frequently put in the bind of signing or losing income. It sucks.
