We need more, but credit where due: both The Nation (June 2024 issue) and Boston Review have run a breakdown of the Project 2025 “Mandate for Leadership” document. Media Matters, too. Lots of good work going on digesting this.
Also the odd youtubers out there talking about it critically - I didn't make much when first hearing about it this week but algorithm-stumbled into a southern political youtuber explaining it from last month: youtu.be/op0yk50uMlQ?... . These folks may be more relatable than news magazines.
I feel it's worth pointing out that Politico did the first report on it *last September*. If you haven't read it it's worth the time because it includes a lot of historical context that's missing from more current 'omg have you read this thing' reports. www.politico.com/news/magazin...
Genuinely curious: The Nation originally ran the article in Oct 2020 according to its website, did they report updates/new findings in the magazine version? Or are they just running greatest hits for the summer to give staff a break?
I’ve been reading the DOJ section and it is ominous. Project 2025 states that overturning Kennedy v. Louisiana, a 2008 SCOTUS ruling that prohibits the death penalty for nonfatal crimes - ostensibly to apply it to violent sex crimes - should be a DOJ priority. static.project2025.org/2025_Mandate...
Good God!
“Heritage and its president, Kevin Roberts, have previously called for “crushing the rogue prosecutor movement.” [Project 2025, Mandate for Leadership, 2023; The Heritage Foundation, The Kevin Roberts Show, 7/26/23]”.
How about we first crush the rogue judiciary, starting with SCOTUS?
If you’ve not already watched it. Might I politely but strongly recommend watching the Prime documentary “Bad Faith” as it will undoubtedly provide you with insights into Project 2025 and their agenda which is to effectively end Democracy. DJT is their bitch and the key to the castle 🏰 no joke!!!
