That recent photo of Iowa's river of livestock sludge after their heavy rains made me think this, too. Deregulated & willing to poison their communities and eventually we stop buying their pork, etc. They are finished.
Trump will be on board and pliant as long as you pay him, but the minute we have a motivated authoritarian who wants to mobilize a battalion to take over and occupy Microsoft and tell them to make the hardware and software we want, free of charge, who is Gates going to call?
Am now convinced there's a thick layer of USA rich/finance/industry people who just think this is great because low tax + no regulation, and none of the authoritarian political stuff will matter because DT will only use it in petty ways & when he's gone someone will quietly roll it back. 🫥😑
Since the SCOTUS immunity decision I have completely shifted my mindset from "We have too much savings we should spend on things we want" to "I'm not spending a dime I don't have to because I need every dime I have to get my toddler to safety at a moment's notice."
