I voted in Islington North. Turnout was much higher than normal, officials told me: 600-700 people had already been in by 11am at my polling station. Only one dog there, disappointingly: a black Lab, very friendly

Tackling it head-on doesn't often work. Emotion and a sense of belonging overpower the facts. Pomerantsev was entertainingly rude about the BBC's German service during WWII, its earnestness and hectoring tone. All very recognisable. Depends on who you're trying to reach

People said Greenpeace was nuts in 2009 to predict 921GW of installed solar by 2030. Last year there was 1,419GW. Cost dropped 95% from 2008-20 and it’s dropping faster. There will be vast amounts of cheap clean energy in the future; we just need to use it.
