Worse, I think it’s thought of as a “chosen” community both in the sense that the individual chooses to associate with like-minded believers (until they don’t) and in the sense that the community is “chosen” to be special (until it’s not). Either way, it’s a recipe for disaster.

I think Harris is “potentiallly” a good candidate but in reality I think she’s more ambitious than she is capable, a more cunning politician wouldve acted differently as VP than Harris did.

Harris ascended to power by playing the inside game of SF machine politics. Her senate campaign in 2018 underperformed baseline expectations, and her presidential campaign ended before it could be confirmed she lost. She also doesn’t appear to have any organic connections to poor black america.

If I could step in to steelman, cuz I agree, the anons so far have been rationalizing without reasoning…. Harris is a weaker candidate than whoever wins an open convention, bcuz winning on the floor consolidates partisans behind the nominee, whereas Harris has tenuous claims to represent a bloc.

There isn’t a constitutional mechanism to use, constitution is on Kamala’s side in this case. The political problem Kamala has is she’s a court politician, and her court is unpopular. Pritzkers the only feasible replacement cuz he’s got the money, but he doesn’t seem interested in hard ball.
