I think this dish I got at La Casita on Bethel is weirder than anything I ate in Mexico. It's a roasted, hollowed out pineapple, full of melted cheese, and various seafoods (octopus, shrimp, scallops, surimi). It was an entree, but I think it would be better as a shared appetizer w/ tortilla chips.

TIL that McNaughten Street in Columbus, Ohio got its name from a man always falling asleep on his commute home on the interurban. The conductor started calling out “McNaughten” when they got to his stop and eventually the name stuck

I don't want some egghead bureaucrat telling me whether there's poison in the water I drink. Ideally I'd want that decided by a 29yo judge who went to a "biblical law school" and does not believe dinosaurs existed, and then to have that decision reaffirmed six years later by the Supreme Court.

I have SJ's cookbook, but it's very heavily Japanese (85-90%) rather than a true Japanese/Jewish fusion cookbook. It *does* have the matzo ball ramen but I havent tried to make it yet.

This is what I mean. If Trump wins and Democrats lose the Senate, which seems likely, cities are in big trouble. Hochul, who has said she'll start congestion pricing later, is taking a huge gamble that I don't think will pay off.

i'm sorry, this is an area where i am just completely unwilling to compromise. i think speeding and reckless driving are profoundly antisocial acts that are DEMONSTRABLY PROVEN to result in TENS OF THOUSANDS OF DEATHS every year in car and pedestrian crashes. this seems bad to me.

I would hire a fashion consultant and have all of my clothes custom-made for my body. No more clothes shopping, no more tailors, no attempting to discern fashion. Just completely remove that entire genre of tasks from my brain. Make me perpetually as stylish and comfortable as possible.
