"few countries" nearly every country in the world restricts immigration based on health status and how much they think you'll cost their health care. I think the wrinkle here is AU will cancel your visa even if you're already legally in the country. That's less usual.

my biggest help with fatigue is modafinil, which keeps me awake. But without the LDN I often have the bone-deep fatigue that *nothing* will improve but is so overwhelming you can barely move regardless. I mostly only get that in flare or postdrome now.

it seems to be more effective at managing fatigue than pain for me but it does greatly reduce the background deep muscle aches. I was on 4.5mg for a while and that was okay & then my doc accidentally sent in the 9mg scrip and I asked if we could try it and it's had better results.

The book And the Band Played On is amazingly well researched and documented and yet it absolutely gets "Patient Zero" completely wrong. I remember when I found out the truth I was pretty horrified by the book's depiction. (I do recommend the book with that admittedly large caveat)

fwiw i don't have LC but I do have the same practical symptoms due to fibro/POTS/MCAS/ME. I take low-dose naltrexone to manage fibro pain and fatigue, I'm on 9mg daily and it is a subtle but significant effect. I don't notice it working but I *really* notice when I miss it.

they're just very sensitive lol. I might be a supertaster, I can't tolerate anything spicy or bitter. I hate coffee and leafy greens and jalapeños make my mouth feel like it's on fire. salty or sweet and I'm there. anything else can be hit or miss. bodies are weird.

okay but what is my alternative? I refuse to feel guilty about buying a food I actually use on a regular basis. is packaged chicken stock worse than all the produce that dies in my fridge without being eaten? or the leftovers that get tossed after not being eaten? I'll use up the stock at least.

I actually do keep chicken stock on hand because I cook my rice and other short grains in chicken broth instead of water and it doesn't taste right to me if I use bouillon instead. It is possible to get decent quality commercial chicken stock, I'm not buying Swanson.
