Our local library is only open till noon on Saturdays and till one on Thursday. They were talking further cutbacks last time I heard. Some libraries in the state have been closed. I live in a red state. Our government seems unusually hostile to the idea of public libraries.

Having grown up in NYC, conservatives and bible thumpers have been trying to censor what we have in public libraries there for decades. I remember being first exposed to it back in the 1970s. So to me this is just the latest attempt to do that.

After they close then we can house people here illegally in them. Spent all the money we could have used on the Libraries on them already. Vets in the streets homeless though. I Want to weep for all of us. It's ok though, no libraries means less education, no one will know what we allowed to happen
