The messaging disciplines of the parties is fascinating. Dems are pretty good at the top - at least executive admins, which frustrates the hell out of the press. OTOH, rank and file republicans are incredibly good at getting in line no matter what the executive says.

Lumber seems currently be because of the structural barriers to residential construction (including, but certainly not exclusive to interest rates) and incredible improvements to supply chain and supply in general post-COVID. Lots of weirdness out there due to the pandemic.
