bad luck for biden to run in an electoral cycle where "are you old" is the most important issue instead of in one of the cycles where email security procedures or accuracy of vietnam war medal citations was the most important issue in the country.

my friend asked the other day how i planned to cover the growing fascism here and i said “i guess continue writing about it til i’m sent to prison? lol” it was a flip thing to say but it’s hard to imagine ever stopping. or fleeing. i’m feeling not quite patriotic, but protective of this country.

NYC shifting climate zones is really hitting me this summer because every so often now it will hit this heat humidity mix and suddenly NYC smells the way I remember Haiti smelling when I was a kid and it's unsettling.

Through my childhood, on election nights, my dad was the man under Peter Snow’s desk putting interesting facts on notecards into his socks. That’s how it was done before Google, kids. You got a very clever ASD man with some Oxford degrees to just remember interesting constituency histories.

I'm disappointed in Biden's remarks just now. If I were him, I would have stated: "I am currently the President. The SCOTUS decision ALSO applies to me. Therefore, "I" plan to remain in office - in accordance with the SCOTUS decision." Turn and walk out!

Lot of hand ringing over the SCOTUS decision re Trump. BUT - BIDEN is in office. That decision ALSO applies to him. Come election & inauguration time, BIDEN will be able to do the same things Trump did. If push come to shove: Vast majority of the military will support Biden.
