After telling someone to throw out yet another useless book of advice for neurodivergent people clearly written by someone who isn’t neurodivergent I have one tip re developing a habit w ADHD: make it really easy to implement. Kids dropping wrappers on floor? Put out more trash cans in those areas
This was apparently one of the philosophies Walt Disney had. Supposedly, when Disneyland had just opened a bunch of people were cutting across a lawn because it was faster to get somewhere. A maintenance person was going to put up a fence to block it and Walt told him to put a path there instead.
As a commercial interior designer, the answer to paper towels used to open restroom doors without touching them (and then dropped on the floor) is 100% to put a trash can there. 🤷♀️ (A sign to please use a more distant trash can is useless.)
Yes! And when I move trash cans near me so I don't forget to throw stuff away, don't then yell I'm lazy and move it. Then yell at me for being messy. Ugh. Story of my life.
I’m in the process of leaving a job cause my boss is insisting I watch videos on organization and time management strategies made by nt people. She could just implement the supports I requested, but nope. She’s gotta “fix” my behaviors.
