Watching the Biden speech from today and if they’re smart they just found the counterattack. He said some say he’s too old to be president. Then he asks the crowd a series “was I too told to” questions, going through his accomplishments one by one. This is exactly what they need to do.

The heatwave lockdown begins, although there’s an off-chance on some of these days I’ll be able to go outside around sunset, and for at least this first day I’ll be fine just having cooled down overnight with box fans in the windows before closing up early in the morning.

Someone recently gave the “media is covering Biden debate stuff because it’s novel, whereas Trump isn’t novel” line and I think about Bill Kovach and Tom Rosenstiel’s elements of #Journalism, one of which was “keep the news comprehensive and proportional”, and that’s where a novelty focus fails us.

Somehow I have to do a grocery errand early tomorrow morning before it gets too hot, because my SNAP reups tomorrow, that is food I can both afford and will be gentle on the presumptive IBS and that in my current “I don’t want to eat most things” state I will actually eat.
