I agree. If the goal of Democrats is to get elected by any means necessary, then it logically follows that Democrats should adopt wholesale the Republican policy positions, if that's what it takes to win. Once you throw all your principles and values out the window, decisions get easier.

In the tropics, if you don't have screens you usually sleep with a mosquito net over the bed. California, really depends on which part. In many parts of California, most seasons you can sleep outside without getting bit by anything. Other parts have mosquitos.

Hillary was a terrible candidate in 2016, even more than she was in 2008 — and anyone who pointed out this obvious fact had Blue MAGA people screaming "sexist" at them. Blue MAGA spent the last five years screaming "ageist" at anyone who correctly pointed out that Biden is pretty obviously shaky.

The "Biden Too Old" drama is actually extremely relevant to the Supreme Court / Trump dictator conversations. The Democrats keep annointing flawed, white centrist candidates with 1970s politics who everyone is already kinda sick of. That's how we got stuck with Trump in 2016. Build a bench, ffs!

It feels like poor political calculus on the DA's part — alienating the coalition that got him elected. And guranteeing that victims will now turn to the press to have their stories told rather than trusting the process — which is going to make Gascon look really bad.
