Learning to code teaches a methodology to problem solving and breaking large things down into small well defined chunks thatβs useful in almost everything you do. Itβs not for everyone, but it would benefit anyone.

Also, you don't need to learn to code for cyber but it can help a lot and I'd argue that "everyone" can benefit from learning at least one programming language.

One of the most interesting conversations I had about programming was with a criminal lawyer.
It was a very long time ago and he was convinced that even as a criminal lawyer he should learn to code.
A few years after he'd learned to code, quit law, and was earning more in cybersecurity.

Very true, but it should never be a knee-jerk response.

Good answer.
Avoid knee-jerk reactions, even when it's hard to do so.
Practice keeping cool.
It's not easy, but you need to.

If information that makes you angry comes at the same time from the same person as information that makes you sad, from someone going through something potentially traumatic, their state of mind should also be considered because the thing that made you mad could have just been caused by the trauma.

It's an empathy test and in my opinion you should always choose empathy and compassion in situations like this, no matter what.

Imagine being presented with two "new" pieces of information simultaneously
The first might make you really sad
The second might make you really angry
Both come from someone going through new cancer diagnostics
Would most people focus on themselves and get mad or suppress anger and show empathy?

Go the game and go the programming language are both good, but go and rust is probably a better choice imo

Chess is a powerful tool for personal development, fostering skills that extend far beyond the game itself.
Everyone should learn to play chess and keep playing.
Martial arts is another great tool.
And programming.
Here's my recipe for a great life:
- chess
- martial arts
- programming
- travel

I will be one of the DMs running a game of D&D and raising money for charity at Dungeons & Dragons: Elvaston Castle.
Players will be able to enjoy a six-hour session of D&D (with a break for lunch) in the gothic splendour of Elvaston Castle. #DnD #gaming #ttrpg

Let's be clear
If a company a "security researcher" has identified as being hacked then denies it that does not give "security researcher" the right to break the law just because they're pissed off
At that point you're no longer a "security researcher", you're a criminal and it's black and white
