Now might be a good time to look again at some of the petitions that would've been ignored by the Tories. I'll start with this one, endorsed by Jenny Jones, calling for the water industry to be re-nationalised. I hope Labour listen.

Now Farage has spoken as an MP for the first time, can we please have something approximating scrutiny of him from at least the lobby? Time to stop acting like he’s a lovable eccentric and start treating him as someone on the public payroll, who has to adhere to standards he does not share. Thanks.

For those wondering how this election result happened in 🇫🇷, Le Pen’s fascist party was founded 51 years ago. They have come close to winning many times, but never win enough to succeed. There will always be fascists, but if anti-fascists join together to defeat them, we will always win.

Why dyes everyone have to “work tirelessly?” I think it’s acceptable to work until you’re tired, have a rest, and then start again.

Some facts about the UK popular vote: 1. Seats are not voters. 2. Tories + Reform received more votes than Labour. 3. But Labour + LibDems received more votes than Tories + Reform. 3. + Greens, and it's even more. 4. Labour should listen to LDs + Greens to ensure popular support.

The Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer, has appointed his cabinet. This new cabinet marks a historic moment in British politics, with a record number of state-educated Ministers and the lowest proportion of privately educated Ministers since 1945. CHANGE IS POSSIBLE🌹

Yes - there were some issues that they had to avoid whilst campaigning because the Tories would've pounced on them and used any stance against them. Those issues aren't avoidable any more.

Definitely. PM is a job that must be difficult to prepare for but managerial and delegation skills have to be a necessity. With his background, he should have those. He seems to have chosen a team that he believes he can trust and that are competent. Let's see if he can pull it all together.

And they will get tough. We're very much in the honeymoon period at the moment. Sensible people are relieved that the grown-ups are in charge again but there are too many things to fix and too many unknowns to deal with. Hopefully his team is strong enough & work together in the bad times.

I think you're probably right on that - there'll be things he chooses not to answer and those he can't answer because work is still ongoing. I still think we'll get more honesty if not total openness from him. At least we won't get silly slogans and prepared 'answers' that don't answer anything.

As I lay in the bath this morning reflecting on the GE result, two things made me feel so happy; we are no longer going to hear about the Govt withdrawing us from ECHR and, the Rwanda Policy will be scrapped. That's two big wins already. Have a great weekend everyone!

With respect, I didn't demand that the left 'shuffle off'. I voted for Corbyn, and would've welcomed a government led by him. He wouldn't have been my first choice and neither is Starmer. I'm definitely more left-leaning than he is. I just prefer to judge by what happens now, going forward.

There's a lot of talk about vote share compared with 2019. It doesn't and can't matter today - just like with exam results, it only matters until you get your first job and from then on you're judged on your performance in that job. Let's do that - let's judge them on how they do the job.

Why you absolutely can’t consider Reform an extension of the Conservatives and just add the two voting totals together. New polling from MiC shows barely a third would ever vote Conservative. Why the Tories are crazy for chasing the Reform vote.

Just seen a clip of an interview with Truss after her defeat where she seemed to blame the ECHR and being unable to deport immigrants for the catalogue Tory failures. Even now they don't get it!
