Friendly reminder that the $100k benchmark for "hmm this public servant seems to be Very Well Paid, what about that" was set in the early 90s, when $100k was equivalent to about $210k in 2023 terms. Yes it's a nice round number but the meaning has changed quite a bit in 30 years.
