It's about as ridiculous as how scrupulous I am about recycling in our house when companies routinely waste far more than I do. It makes me feel like I'm doing something useful at least.

I don't get it when people point out that Project 2025 is "nothing new." Yes, obviously, right-wingers have been fanatics for decades. They were blowing up abortion clinics and shooting doctors when I was a kid. But, as you may have noticed, their political vision has kind of been coming together.

If you steal $1000, you can be sent to prison. When health insurance companies steal $50,000,000,000, they get tax breaks, subsidies and government contracts, while the people they steal from die or go into debt. But keep blaming immigrants and poor people for rising crime.

On this day, 8 years ago, we lost Philando Castile - a tragic reminder of the systemic injustices that persist to this day. His memory continues to inspire our fight for justice and equality. The last class of 5th graders he served graduated from high school this past spring. Rest In Power friend.

Hey, remember how librarians and I were warning everyone that mass book-banning is just step one of a fascist government takeover? Well, some of the same book-banning orgs we warned you about are on the advisory board for Project 2025, whose leader calls it a "second American Revolution.”

Exactly. Some, I'm sure, would love to move but are unable to do so.

The missing one turned up and again she seemed entirely unbothered. Like, what? My husband insists that it's because she lived on a farm and a lot of animals die on a farm but I don't buy it. There's something wrong with someone who doesn't even miss a pet when it goes missing.

My MIL frankly scares me. One of her cats (she lets them roam, don't get me started) went missing for several *weeks* and I never heard of or saw her cry or even seem upset. I was so frankly appalled I wanted to tell her to take the remaining one straight back to the shelter.

I really don't understand people who let their cats roam. On top of it being illegal in a lot of cities, cats kept indoors don't get eaten by coyotes, injured or killed by dogs, or possibly run over by cars or trains.

If you’ve never seen Dorothea Lange’s photographs of the World War II internment camps and the Japanese-Americans who were imprisoned there, today is a good day to see them and to commit to making sure this never happens again.

Males sense. As an elder Millennial who didn't even have the internet in my house until I was in college (it existed at least when I was in high school) I enjoy reading articles about what crazy nonexistent trends have other moms worried.

Why tf would I want Kennedy? I'm autistic and he's an antivaxxer. He probably thinks I am the way I am because of vaccines, which is preposterous.

Reframing the way autistics move: "Some movements such as stimming have the same functions as many other ways of moving, including dancing and exercising, which could help to reduce stigma around being autistic if reflected in policy and practice."

That and ableism was rife in my smallish city in the 90s- no one thought a girl who could talk (albeit sounding like a "little professor") but had trouble with social cues could be autistic.
