Google’s emissions are up 48% in 5 years. Microsoft’s are up 30% since 2020. Those soaring figures are being driven by mass investments in data centers to power AI tools. Generative AI is a climate disaster and data center expansion must be stopped.

Due to the fireworks, New York City's air quality is the worst in the world tonight.

When AQI is low, it's a good idea to wear a mask to protect your health.

But this could soon be a crime, as one of the mask ban bills prohibits masks at "lawful assemblies."

That time I tweeted that most women of my generation and younger have nudes, and that we shouldn’t penalize them, but scorn the people that leak them. It went very viral and then my boss called and fired me and then an hour later I got another call from telling me I definitely wasn’t fired.

As an organizer, I connect with people about the things they care about. Yes, people are invested in systems, but they are also invested in their children, their safety, their regard for their neighbors, their future, etc. There's a lot to talk about.

Some folks say you have to leverage people's patriotism. People who trust me as an organizer do so bc I'm invested in their well-being and survival (or that of others they're concerned about), and I bc don't bullshit them. Paying lip service to a rotting empire would jam up that equation.

After this week's momentous Supreme Court ruling I posted about the 1933 Enabling Act in Germany as a warning about the dangers of growing totalitarianism. Disappointed to learn @moderation.bsky.app labelled it "radical views advocating violence, hate, or discrimination." Very poor job @bsky.app

I wish more people were pointing this out to voters in Montana. (Maybe there are some people doing it out there? Let me know.) Public lands access is one of the few things that has cross-party support with voters (rich politicians? welll...) We also have a significant % of Native American voters.
