That moment when the hospital doors close behind you, and you are just standing there, holding a baby in a carrier is one of the most intense experiences. So is the drive home.
What a trip.

In the early 90's, he hosted an informercial for some sort of pan or something. His cohost was a woman named Joan (we were pretty high, so that detail might be wrong).
At one point, he delivers the line "Joan, do I smell fajitas?" like only he could.
We still repeat it to this day.

I think I'd prefer if it was a Thunderdome outside.
This heat dome is boring as shit.

I know almost nothing about Nohm Chomsky. And I'm wondering if that makes me the weirdo, or are all these people who seem to know a lot about him the weirdos?
I honestly can't tell.
Like, over the years I've heard of him as a linguist. But that doesn't really help me at all.

I don't know why I haven't been including Starburst in our routine charcuterie nights. But that changes now.

Years ago, I referred to a 22 oz beer as a "tallboy". A buddy of mine who has a genuine way with words corrected me.
He said tall boys are 16 oz. "What you're dealing with there is a worker."
I don't know where he got it from, but it's what I call the truly big boys now.

I'm from Metro Detroit, and I can explain him. But I'd prefer not to. It's really just too embarrassing.

I made it to 50 without seeing St Elmo's Fire, and I think it looks pretty good for me to go the distance.

We also did that last year. And I was just thinking the same thing as I looked out one of them. We also had to replace our furnace over the winter, and decided to do the old AC unit at the same time. Currently very happy with both upgrades.

98% of IT is just copying and pasting the error message into Google. The trick is knowing what results to ignore.

Watched it with my 13yo two weeks ago. We both cried at the end. Pretty sure this will be a core memory for us.

Well, Father's Day is almost over.
Time to go back to our regularly scheduled days, where I am also extremely special, and deserving of praise and adulations.
Carry on.

Nothing like seeing "in a 3 quart baking dish..." in a recipe. Cool, I guess it's time to do some math conversions.

It's a primer for mediocre dudes to later find Ayn Rand in college, and think they've found the key to the universe. And most people aren't brilliant enough to appreciate its genius.

Growing up, we displayed our VHS collection on shelves in our living room. Almost everyone did. It was a personal library you were proud of.
I think a big part of the reason records have resurged is for the same reason. And people have always displayed their books.

As for JKR, I can't imagine a world were time moves backward, and we all decide she was right all along. The far more likely outcome, in my opinion, is that she will have destroyed her legacy, because she couldn't let go of her bigotry.

I fully believe trans people are being honest about who they are. And I support anyone who is just trying to get through this life as best they can. I don't feel the need to get in their way.
