A lot of things that Biden wants to do are things I think are good things we should do.
A lot of things Trump wants to do are things I think are bad things we shouldn't do.
Therefore I will be supporting Biden even though I don't agree with him on everything.
This is not complicated.

Excited to introduce a project I've been working on for a long time: a thorough comparison of Biden and Trump on the issues. "The stakes, not the odds," to borrow from Jay Rosen.
The initial version has 6 topics, but I'll be adding more, as well as updating with new statements/policies. Gift link:

Sorry, people over here *love* to talk to American visitors about American politics.
No joke: tell people you're Canadian. We don't know the difference in accents, and we don't follow their politics at all.

Go team pennies!

When I lived in NY, each family member mentioned the honking on their first visit.
Also, about once a day we saw an example of absolute looney-tunes driving that would have been a tell-your-friends story if we’d seen it back home.

1,000,000% a tunes person. The singer’s voice is mostly just another instrument for me, and the lyrics just determine the sounds it makes.

Oh man, recently read a comic with a British character and… some of that dialogue were not words any human has ever said.
And don’t get me started on Irish characters! Incredibly twee. (At least we’re past the time when every Irish character was in the IRA, though.)

I put years of time, work, and money doing things the right way, to be a legal immgrant and then a US citizen.
And I completely support this.
Why should other people who didn’t have the right piece of paper be treated as less human than me?

Seasons 1 & 2 are *shaky*. The step-up in quality for Season 3 is a great argument for letting a show run longer to find its voice.

Reading the Chronicles of Narnia to my son (who’s loving them).
Skipping the lines where C.S. Lewis repeatedly takes shots, in multiple books (!), at a distorted version of “modern” schools that were probably similar to the one my kids go to. Give it a rest, Clive.

The various Irish Tourism boards get quoted in the paper predicting disaster and calamity every other week.
I 100% disagree with them here. People in rural areas CAN NOT FIND homes to rent, and this new law is the right thing to do to keep these communities alive.

My daughter played me Taylor Swift’s most popular song, and I told her honestly that I’d never heard it in my life.
No, I don’t know what it was called.

This is an excellent description of the editorial failure behind The NY Times' decision to run Alina Chan's lab leak article.
What's the value proposition to the readership of presenting a one-sided argument that most scientists find lacking? Did no editor bother to ask that question?
