I’m tentatively leaning toward Biden withdrawing, but I have a hesitation I haven’t seen much discussed. If he drops out, people are going to feel even more like the Democrats betrayed them by keeping his condition from them.
I didn't want Biden to even be in the primary ANY of the times he ran. I was having the age / ability conversation in 2022 & it made some of my Democratic friends furious. But it's too late now. The OH deadline means the nomination vote is online before the convention. You're stuck. Pull it together
I mean it’s been obvious for more than 5+ years but like planting a tree, the best time to come clean would have been a decade ago but the second best time is now
Doubling down and continuing the charade isn’t winning any hearts or minds nor convincing anyone of anything positive about the Ds
I think more voters will be mad the Democrats listened to the NYT editorial board and a bunch of GOP pundits instead of their actual voting base, which overwhelmingly voted for Biden. Despite an organized effort, "uncommitted" did worse than it fared in 2012 against Obama!
It kind of depends on how they spin it, I think. If he says that it’s the pace of the campaign itself that has exhausted him and convinced him it’s time to step down, he might be able to convince folks. Not everyone, but that won’t ever be the case. A lot of folks will just be happy to move forward.
