There’ve been granny dresses and all sorts of similar fads but it feels like the first time a very particular fluttery aesthetic / silhouette has reappeared. Also they seem insanely expensive. $150 for smocked / barely tailored cotton!

Yeah no I don’t like them myself. I just can’t believe what a direct throwback they are. That Holly Hobbie tired / winged / smocked / gathered ruffle thing. Everything from the 70s (from any time) has been recycled but this is the first time I’ve seen those seriously 70s necklines straight up BACK

You know that people are starting to get how dangerous Project 2025 is when Donald Trump had to pretend to disavow it.
It was an honor to talk to the Sultan of Schedule F @donmoyn.bsky.social about his supporting role in the Last Night Tonight explainer that helped this story break through.

Note the gasps of horror from the Joan Rivers audience at a world where women had to go through this.

1989 interview of Debbie Reynolds where she speaks about being forced to carry a dead baby pre-Roe. And how when another died (this would be early 60s) she forced doctors to handle it differently.

Hah! I got a little bit obsessed with skincare during lockdown.
Would also mention: synchronized swimmers who are in pool all day use diaper cream on their face (40% zinc oxide). You look like a clown but if the risks in a situation are super-significant, that stuff is way cheaper

Yeah I should have started with the Paula’s Choice / Supergoop. And then tried to sneak in the non-tinted!

(You’re looking for a pale one, but just to mention for gen info: there are a lot more sunscreens for deeper skin tones these days. Don’t leave a crazy white cast.)

Hah! So many with metal oxides and dioxides do that! A little bit inevitable. I should have said I can tolerate Paula’s Choice and Supergoop sunscreens OK (they have those)—SG is paler than PC but you look like a mirrorball—but I’m much more comfortable in the Korean ones.

Project 2025 is the GOP party platform they've been too afraid to write down since 2020. It is a collection of all their policy positions and plans for remaking America into the upside down, mirror universe version of itself.
That's why they don't want you to read it.

Oh! I am fine with chem or mineral and like: Beauty of Joseon and esp Isntree watery sun gel whic I just rebought. Did not like Haruharu. Ordered recently but not tried yet: Cosrx, Skin 1004, and Round Lab (all supposed to be great). Also like CeraVe 30 SPF face lotion & Glow Recipe sunscreen.

The biggest issue with Biden coverage is that he’s now The Story, which means that most of the press is focused on The Story and not any of the context or consequences. If we were having a serious discussion about qualifications for presidency, age, and the two main candidates, I’d be fine with it.

The Kansas Supreme Court reaffirmed abortion protections in the state’s Constitution on Friday. It struck down Republican-backed laws that banned a common second-trimester abortion procedure and that created new licensing requirements for abortion clinics.

TikTok keeps showing me lives from black pro-Trump TikTokers. 😬 Even though I have the algorithm well trained about politics. It also knows I watch a lot of black creators. It keeps busting in with these live videos, despite blocking them. I’m going to go ahead and call this creepy and upsetting.

No he’s “seeking to distance” himself. It’s a thought-out tactic, you see. That’s not lying. It’s…something that’s not lying.

His weak-willed instinct to hedge about something he knows people don’t like but will be doing anyhow in the end always gets too grandly painted as policy. “Sought to distance” is too grand too. He just equivocates like a motherfucker.
