Taney's Court had only a fraction of the power and authority over American politics & society that Roberts' Court does 1/

Yep! A fair number of universities offer constitutional history courses to undegrads that are taught by historians trained to think of law in larger contexts. And when I’ve taught constitutional history I tell students they’re learning to read the const & cases so they can make informed assessments.
