I think any measure of separation of art from artist needs to be understood as a subjective decision and not an objective position. You cannot hold that as a standard for people who have decided differently.

Honestly I think instead of the self publishing guide they should've included Cerebus Zero instead. The like-a-looks story is an awkward coda to Jaka's story but I think Square One is a really good piece of work.

Half I think is that it has a much steeper learning curve to entry than say a Punisher comic, both with its internal continuity and it's external references. The other is that his belief system is so niche it's inaccessible if not repellent to most people sympathetic to him on surface value.
