I wonder if deer is wrong in the same way that kangaroo is wrong. Encountering a kangaroo in the wild is... a lot. Most of the time they'll just hop away, but sometimes not. The kangaroos that tourists take photos of are very different to encountering a 6-foot-plus red kangaroo in the bush.

One of the things I'm still coming to terms with after socially transitioning is "the look". I get looks, I'm early in my transition, I know that I'm not passing yet. But there's *THE look*, the one that I get from middle-aged cisgender men. [shudder] Thank you, I genuinely hate it.

This is absolutely true. Our gas ducted heating stopped working on Saturday (midwinter in Melbourne, AU), and the tech came at 5pm on Monday and fixed it. Three hours later the house started filling up with the smell of burninating PVC instead of heat.
