We're on the verge of being able to mass produce meat that has been grown in a lab from animal cells, with no animal having to suffer and be slaughtered to produce it. A potential revolution in nutrition and land use and ethics and energy consumption. So of course Ron DeSantis outlaws it.

I flirt with becoming vegan. I like chicken and fish, and beef maybe twice a month, but what happens to the animals is so repulsive it pushes me away. A clean conscience would be nice but for RepubliQans, as we all know by now, the cruelty is the point.

"Lab-grown" is a rather unfortunate term. Artificial would be more fitting, perhaps. Or synthetic. I don't think it's actually going to replace a huge chunk of demand for a very long time, but of course banning it is wrong and stupid and as always, hypocritical on any notion of limited government.
