Also seen on the tour was the Warner Animation History wall that gives more representation to Tiny Toons than I would’ve expected.
You can also buy a $900 cel from a forgettable ‘90s commercial of the Looney Tunes presenting merchandise (I passed on it)

Some more cool stuff from my Warner Bros Studio Tour:
One room had a smattering of WB animation history, including old Hanna-Barbera, the Spielberg shows, DCAU, and Iron Giant. Even some vintage Toon Squad gear worn by Michael Jordan (though where’s Cartoon Network shows?)

Another fun LA day, went on the Warner Bros Studios tour for the first time.
Lots of random Hollywood history I learned today. My favorite was that this random alley is in many films.
It’s where Prince did the cover of Purple Rain *and* where Spider-Man got kissed upside down!

Went to the La Brea Tar Pits today. I thought I saw Stampy there, but it was only a model. Oh well, maybe next time

Had another great day on my LA vacation. Went to the Academy Museum, tons of cool stuff there. The temporary exhibit of John Waters is fantastic.
Costumes from his films, some of his awards, even a cel from his iconic episode of The Simpsons!

I just think Nintendo has a smart business strategy of making many video games instead of very few video games. Similarly, Nintendo has the business acumen to employ people to make games instead of laying off thousands of people to pad out spreadsheets

Not-E3 2024 scorecard:
Sony: Does everyone still like Overwatch? Because we have several similar titles
Xbox: We have a few studios we haven’t laid off yet. They make titles you wouldn’t mind on Game Pass
Nintendo: Even though we’re saving stuff for Switch 2, we have lots of games you asked for

In disappearing Ms. Pac-Man (and replacing her with the abomination that is Pac-Mom), Namco is not only rewriting gaming history but also ignoring Ms. Pac-Man's status as a milestone in acknowledging that yes, women play video games too. www.thrillingtalesofoldvideogames.com/blog/ms-pac-...

If I see several former colleagues in the games press start spontaneously complimenting another journalist, then I know there’s a new Twitter hate campaign against them. Happy I’m no longer part of that career where your low pay is coupled with spurious bigoted attacks

At the middle of the film, we visit Imagination. It’s essentially an unhappy animation studio being run by Anxiety, then they rediscover Joy. Maybe an intentional allegory for the current stressful era of Pixar/the industry🤔

And I don’t know, but I would guess that SNL used the Skull and Death Rock shirts because they didn’t have time to get permission from Metallica and AC/DC. Really only have Thursday and Friday to do it, need to get a yes from lots of musicians, may have been impossible.

i've done paid work as a comics artist, writer, and artist+writer, and: writers make less per page because it is less labor to write a single page of comics by an order of magnitude lmao. v weird to see people get sectarian about it when we're all broke! crab on crab violence here in the big bucket
