I think it's increased visibility and generational. Boomers made up a huge demographic center of mass. As they age out of leadership they cling to power, dragging down the vibrancy of leadership. With age comes wisdom too but the world has changed a lot. Old dog new tricks.

I started out the same way but trust me, flushes are easier to build. Just find 3 of a suit and discard till you get a flush. Think of it this way. Every pair you discard for makes the next type of pair harder to find. Every flush you discard for makes subsequent flushes of that suit easier to play

In my stardew valley run I min maxed jelly production until I reached such over production of fruit the only realistic way to turn it all into jelly was to raze the e tire map and turn it into jelly machines.
