I mean, that particular school’s grades were already on my transfer school’s official transcripts, so they already know my grades were fine. I called and they said it’s just a technicality and they need to have individual schools’ transcripts, as well. So we’ll see

Applying to grad school rn and I stressed out hard over writing my Letter of Intent this week. Got it in, could’ve been better, been stressing about that, but just got a notice from the Uni saying they received it but were missing a transcript. So while annoying, I’m guessing that’s a good sign?

The remnants of Beryl are bringing some low barometric pressure with them, so if you get pressure-induced headaches, sleepiness, and/or sinus issues and you live w/in this circle, you’re prob feeling it rn —a fellow barometric pressure-sensitive friend

It definitely helps on high-humidity days! I learned its full power when I was staying in a cabin in Georgia last summer. The mini-split unit had a “dry” setting, as well as “cool” & “heat”. Left the dry setting on all night by accident and woke up freezing for the first time all summer

Anecdotally, I have family that’s already half-hearted about voting for Trump, but will do so this election, as a kind of “eh I’m already in, might as well try”, but if he loses, they won’t align themselves w/him anymore b/c they don’t want be repeatedly seen as the losing team with the losing dude

Curious to see how Le Pen’s followers will take another loss by her. One loss can rally ppl into the feeling they were robbed & energize the base. Constant loss? SO much of that energy can turn into personal dejection/apathy to the cause, party division, & leadership scorn. 🤞

Organizers got enough signatures to put a measure protecting abortion on the ballot in Arkansas. In *Arkansas*. They had *no national support*. Ignore the pundits melting down over not being treated as Very Special Boys. Dobbs has fundamentally changed elections. Everything they know is wrong.

Things to help you get some sleep next week if your area is forecasted to get high dew points (70+), high night-time lows (>70°F), and (less important, but still topical) hot daytime temps (88°F+) Very particularly, Pittsburgh is getting all of these!

Watch SCAVENGERS REIGN. Watch CAROL AND THE END OF THE WORLD. Watch BLUE EYE SAMURAI. Watch PLUTO. Netflix needs to understand that *original animated series for YA/adults* have value beyond raunchy comedy. There IS an audience for it. They’ll keep canceling them unless they see those numbers.

Best way I’ve found to explain PGH friendliness to my friends who were like, “You’re moving to PHH? Why???” is this: I’m not sure whether Mister Rogers influenced PGH w/his kindness & tolerance or if the people of PGH influenced Mister Rogers w/their kindness & tolerance. But it’s tangible, for sure

I’m not blind to Biden’s glaring fuck-ups. I just know that I don’t want this to be our last chance to vote. And if Trump wins, it’s absolutely going to be. At least for while. For those of us that survive that period. Which emphatically *won’t* be a lot of folks who would’ve otherwise.

Whatever side of the Biden discussion you’re on, this piece is worth reading I’m team “defeat Trump & Biden is our best play” & am intentionally using sports metaphor b/c I think much of the current discourse is influenced by it, namely: my guy played badly last wk & now I’m embarrassed. Trade him!

I’m sleeping soooo badly this week & only yesterday realized it’s because of the inability of the house to cool down at night with this humidity. Yesterday I was like, “Am I depressed?” b/c I’ve been so apathetic about everything the past 2 - 3 weeks Nope. Just sleep deprived.

If I can’t leave the house at all? Mmmm…probably 30 days, using up the stash of 5-gal water containers, canned jams, jellies, preserves, and syrups. If I can go into my backyard? Closer to 60 - 80 days w/the mini-orchard, garden, and propane tanks for the grill coming into play
