My best friend has a good relationship with my parents, & took them on an outing on the weekend. She rang to tell me that my Mum "very vocal" about the diversity on the train platform & not in a good way. She was mortified ,as am I. I know she has and acquired brain injury, but that's no excuse.

The first 2 woodworking attempts were a fail. Both bits of wood broke while drilling. I sought advice from The Bloke who gave me some pointers, then we went on a Bunnings run for better tools. Hopefully, I finish one piece tomorrow.

Iâm using the big girl craft tools today. I still have all of my fingers after using the drop saw. I had to do a hardware run for sanding disks,as the ones I had were wet and mouldy (roof leaks). An idea has formed. I hope I can execute it without having to rope in The Bloke to finish it for me.

I have a love/hate relationship with the possums in my backyard. I love their little faces but I hate how they strip so many plants to bare branches. I watched one in the gum tree that they have been particularly brutal to, & was surprised to see a little guy/gal, collecting bark for the nest.

I had really bad hand tingles last week when I was doing some hand stitching so that's why I started a new project that was going to be completed on the machine. đ Only other creatives know the pain that goes in to everything we make. (Pinched nerves are never fun.)

I love learning new techniques in my textile projects, so today I'm doing some hand quilting on a small abstract piece I'm working on. I'm getting hand cramps and pins & needles in my right hand (some carpal tunnel issues, I think) so perhaps hand quilting is not for me.

I saw a thing over on the dead bird site today, which was memes & famous artworks "animated" by the use of AI. I cannot describe how ill it made me feel. It sounds like they got bombarded with many requests to refrain from scraping the majority of FB accounts, so they had to make up an on brand for Meta confusing reply. Theyâll generally say one thing then do something different. The AI opt out request probably holds no weight with them.

When I was watching "Morning Wars" this year, it was quite jarring to watch the episodes that were about when COVID-19 became a pandemic, with the overcrowded hospitals & the lack of items in the supermarket. I felt the same sense of anxiety as when we were in lockdown. Reading might be easier.

So, crumbed brains? My parents were big fans of offal when I was growing up. (I can still picture the ox tongue texture!đ€ą) I just canât bring myself to eat it, but I applaud those who do, because it cuts down on food waste. Despite my reservations, this looks delicious.
