Today I discovered I have been extremely inefficient in sampling the alphabet with the my paper titles (p<10E-9). Future coauthors be warned: new paper titles will start with words like Justifying, Knob, Likelihood, Variation, X chromosome, Yearly, or Zea (how did I miss that one!?)

Damn. Now you’re making me reconsider. I usually carry a small case of my favorite chalk in my briefcase at work. Chalk in most conference and classrooms is terrible.

Visiting a colleague’s lab to teach a course. Resisted the urge to pack my own chalk out of concern they won’t have the good stuff.

I feel like I have a reputation for being all corn all the time but that’s simply not true. Check out for example this reserved space on the blackboard in the conference room.

I still find the naming offensive:
On Dolly's name, Wilmut stated "Dolly is derived from a mammary gland cell and we couldn't think of a more impressive pair of glands than Dolly Parton's."

Third I’d rather a candidate with a good team and good policies than a super healthy candidate who is a fascist and surrounds themself with idiots.

Yes. First, mobility isn’t a huge issue for being president. Does potus have to sprint places carrying heavy weights? Second specifically in this particular case to we have any actual evidence one candidate is in better health than the other?

Not only is the economist cover ageist and ableist as many have pointed out, it's also just stupid. Are we only electing Olympic decathletes president now?

I always make my kids listen to this on the 4th. Which is probably why my kids are so eager to move out of the house. 🤣

Don't forget Alice's Day! Today in 1862, on a boat trip for a picnic, 10-year-old Alice Liddell asked Rev. Charles Dodgson (AKA, Lewis Carroll) to tell her and her sisters a story, which became Alice's Adventures Under Ground (1864) and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (1865).

A long bad habit. Whenever I’m just screwing around the first variable I make is Bob. The second Sue. Then Ted. And so on, all three letter names.

Explaining “rizz” to family members who didn’t know the term and managed to convince them “rizzosaurus” was a thing. I think it needs to be. Someone with rizz but too old to know what rizz means.
