It only bounced once before going over the fence so it's a homerun. Two bounces makes it a ground rule double because the "double" is for the number of bounces, so you only get to go to First Base. Yes I am very smrt.

Are we so wired to defer to robed people who sit on thrones that we've collectively allowed the Judiciary to become the only branch not subject to checks and balances? This is madness.

Roberts couldn't be a conservative without also being a hypocrite. The 2 go hand in hand. But yeah, if they'll overturn a relatively uncontroversial, 40 year-old case that's literally most important bedrock of modern admin law, they'll overturn anything they even mildly dislike, precedent be damned.

For people who've railed on for decades about activist judges, the right wing sure seem to like their activist judges.

Except there are no strikes allowed and the umpire is also betting on the outcome of the game.

Once again I suggest Jeffrey Rosen revisit his July 2020 hagiography, praising the collegial Roberts court for finding common ground in narrow decisions and respecting precedents.

It’s the “no reason” that gets to me. Other courts have overruled precedents but they’ve had a reason other than the naked power of a majority. Brown concluded that separate was never equal. Erie RR concluded that federal common law created too many inequities. Et al.
