Just re-read Marie Brenner’s great 1990 @vanityfair piece about Trump. With his admission of keeping a book by Hitler. And quotes his lawyer saying Trump’s “a believer in the big-lie theory.” The unconnected dots: “big lie” was a concept and term Hitler introduced in Mein Kampf.
Back in the good ol' days when you and the fine folks at Spy were calling him a "short fingered vulgarian" and inducing him to cash miniscule checks - i.e. when he was a figure of fun - could you have ever predicted that there was this sinister side to him?
I like how when they confronted Trump about being a believer in the Big Lie Theory, Trump was more concerned about retribution against the person leaking his secret(s), than actually addressing the issue directly.
It tracks SO HARD for him.
Liking Hitler is not German heritage. It's Nazi heritage. I'm not sure who's equating the two here (Brenner or Trump), but it's important to make that distinction.
