The way I knew the quoted skeet was talking about Forester before even clicking through.

I thought there might be at least 2 people I follow that would know exactly what this is ... you were one of them.

Basically came to say this. For an example on one place: California's latest Green Building Standards Code (CALGreen) has mandatory requirements for EV charging for new residential construction, *and* for existing MF-buildings when undergoing additions or alterations of those parking facilities.

There was an even bigger difference in the comments received. All on Threads and all but one here were positive, constructive, or neutral (one person was just being a jerk, not a troll). Only 18% on X were positive or neutral. The rest were negative, many highly so.

Normalized responses -- the total number of likes and shares, divided by number of followers -- were highest here (yay!) and lowest on X.

It's happening. I pieced and sewed the main body of the flag last night. My wife is going to work on an applique to finish the design today (which is all well and good because while I'm super pleased with my work last night ... it's quite apparent I'm not a seamster).

Sorry, but yes, you can also floss too much. Once a day is all you really need unless you're getting something out that is stuck between your teeth. Disclaimer: I'm not a dentist.

It's true. I knew a guy that was and over brusher and was having problems with his gums. He thought it was an issue of him not brushing enough, so he brushed more, and harder, to make sure everything was spotless. When he went to a dentist, they told him he was brushing too much and should back off.

African American bicycle racer Marshall Walter "Major" Taylor (1878-1932) was the world’s first black sports superstar. He was world cycling champion in 1899, American sprint champion in 1900, and set numerous track cycling records.

PBS now has a documentary on the life of Major Taylor. #BlackSky

Why does NBC/Peacock take it as a challenge for themselves to make watching the Tour de France worse every year?

Maybe instead of asking “how do you like them apples?” You should be asking “how do you like Brad’s apples?”

(This is a compromise from my wife's idea of just bringing a pride flag to be our family's flag. My wife is not a fan of our family reunions, or bigots either.)

I'll make a flag, and it will be amazing, and it will incorporate some pride colors so the queer members of my extended family will know they have some straight allies, and it will be amazing, and my bigoted aunts and uncles and siblings won't know what to say about it because it will be amazing.

We're apparently going with an Olympics theme this year. Every family gets to design a flag for themselves. I'm assuming this will be part of a parade of families for an opening and closing ceremony of some type.

Why does my family insist on making family reunions themed? In other news, I get to practice subversive compliance.

Whereas twitter now feels like if the park you and your friends like to go to to talk suddenly turned into a nazi bar and the other people there will not simply leave you alone to have a nice conversation. People jump in to your conversations and it rarely ends up being a good thing. 2/2

Interactions on twitter (a lot of the time early on, less and less lately) felt like some good friends having a chat in a park, and occasionally another person you see frequently at the same park would join in, and maybe you all make a new friend. That's mostly the vibe I now get from bluesky. 1/

Mormon Elder Kitten™️ for many reasons, the least of which is that there is no Mormon Elder Pocket Protector, it's a small white missionary handbook of guidelines and rules in the pocket.

Avoiding discrimination is a benefit, but they probably care less about it than they do some of the other benefits it might bring that would be higher priorities. 2/2

I'd agree that things when as they should have. It's possible avoiding discrimination was part of the consideration, but I don't think I'd go so far to say it was their main objective. They probably benefit from anonymity in these things to some extent and I'd guess that's the objective. 1/

If anything the P&Z board member who pushed for the engineer to approach the mic again to disclose in the interest of transparency shouldn't have done that. If the church was identified it would have been an open door for a lawsuit if the voting went against the church.

Meh, I don't think there is much there there. Federal law protects against religious discrimination in zoning practices. If anything, in not disclosing the identity of the church seeking the rezoning, they are protecting against any potential discrimination.
